So you're thinking about becoming a lash artist! Well I have been in your shoes and let me tell you, you are on to something SO Good! I'm So excited for you and I for one definitely think you should go for it! The really cool thing about being a lash artist is that you are offering something that people really want and are looking for. So it is extremely easy to build up your clientele because most often, people are looking for you! And the other amazing thing about that is that those clients come back every 2-3 weeks for their lash fills so you're not out constantly having to find new clients! You get the 15-40 or however many clients you're willing to take and your books are full! Another awesome perk to being a lash artist is that you have this constant flow of clients coming in so you are able to also offer some really simple and fun Up-Sell treatments to really Sky Rocket your income! So should you become a lash Artist? The answer is a loud YES! Is it a good investment? The answer again is YES! So where do you start? This part can be a little overwhelming so I am here to help you on your journey! Like I said, I've been in your shoes and there are a ton of important and helpful things I have learned along the way that I want to share with you to make your journey a lot easier. So first thing I did and what I recommend is to order a lash Extension Training Kit. The kits on Amazon are a great way to start! I've linked one here that is pretty inexpensive and has everything you need to get started! The only flaw I find with these kits are that the tweezers and glue generally are not very good so you may want to invest in some better tweezers and lash glue to save yourself a headache and frustration. If you'd prefer, click here for a supply list of everything I personally use in my own business and lash room if you'd like to purchase everything separately.
So once you have a kit, you need a course! Honestly, an online course is the way to go because you will have continual access to it and it is much, much, less expensive than an in person course. I know several friends that paid thousands for an in person course and then ended up quiting lashing soon after. You can't take the instructor home with you after you finish the training. Online courses you can refer back to it over and over again and see up close how to do each step! Also, say you find that lashing definitely isn't for you, you're not in the hole thousands of dollars! If you'd like a great online course from an actual lash artist, who is fully booked and who has been in the industry for many years, I know one!! Me!! Haha! But in all seriousness, my course is pretty bad A. I put everything in there that I wish I had known along the way. Also, my course includes printable intake forms, aftercare cards, step by step instructions and so much more! Click here if you'd like to check it out! Once you have those things, your kit and your online course, you are on your way!! I just want to mention, once you've practiced on your mannequin head several times and you're ready to work on a live person, you will need a few other supplies such as good lighting and a comfortable massage table or esthetician bed. I have everything needed and listed here when you're ready! Here is a recap and some additional steps to becoming a successful, fully booked, top tier lash artist!
