Hey It's me again! I'm back. This website and blog is now going to be my own personal journal that'll go along with my scripture study. and it can be for anyone who falls upon it and is interested. I'm finding that I have more time on my hands. Last school year I had 3 kids in 3 different schools on 3 different schedules so my whole day was pretty consumed with pickups and drop offs and work and naps in between. This school year, my oldest has graduated high school so she doesn't need a ride to school, my middle has decided to do online school, so I only pick her up from seminary now and my youngest has decided that he wants to ride his bike to school so I just pick him up in the afternoon. Plus my work as an esthetician as seemed to slow down a little. I got this new UV lash light and it has made the retention so much better so my clients don't come as regularly as they use to. So I've been going through some thinking of what should I be doing. I definitely want to feel the spirit and its guidance more in my life. I feel like I use to get answers so much clearer a long time ago. I feel peaceful now but I want more. I want to feel as close to heaven and to God as possible. I'm also really hoping that Jesus is coming again soon so I'm hoping that by increasing my spirituality, I'll be able to hopefully get a confirmation that he's coming soon. So I'm thinking the way for me to get closer to the Savior and to Heavenly Father is to spend more time in the scriptures. I also know that I need to be doing come follow me with my kids. So here we go! I still enjoy writing but I had kind of ditched the blog so I figured why not bring it back a little with something more worthwhile for my time! Below you'll find my AI version of the verse I dug deep into today but first here's my personal insight.....
1 Nephi 14:1
1 And it shall come to pass, that if the Gentiles shall hearken unto the Lamb of God in that day that he shall manifest himself unto them in word, and also in power, in very deed, unto the taking away of their stumbling blocks
So Hearkening unto the Lamb of God brings us these blessings
-The Lamb of God shall manifest himself unto us in word and in power.
Manifest in word means through scripture, prophecy, revelation, and preaching of the gospel. The Lord manifests himself when His words reach us-whether in the Bible, book of Mormon, modern revelation, or through the quiet whisperings of the Spirit.
Manifest in power means through miracles, spiritual experiences, answered prayers, and the outpouring of the Spirit.
-He will take away our stumbling blocks
The Promises of Hearkening unto the Lamb of God
-We can overcome the world
(1 Nephi 15:24)
24 And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.
-We can dwell in Righteousness forever (1 Nephi 15:36)
36 Wherefore, the wicked are rejected from the righteous, and also from that tree of life, whose fruit is most precious and most desirable above all other fruits; yea, and it is the greatest of all the gifts of God. And thus I spake unto my brethren. Amen.
-We can find peace and protection even in the last days.. (Mosiah 2:41)
41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
Wow! I want those Promises and Blessings!!!
So how do we Hearken? To Hearken is more than just hearing. It is to listen with the intent to obey.
Lastly Ill end with this insight from ChatGPT:)))
"Hearing is when someone calls your name in a crowd; hearkening is when you stop what you're doing, turn toward them, and walk in their direction"
This is the AI post created:))
In the Book of Mormon, the verse 1 Nephi 14:1 invites us to "hearken unto the Lamb of God," urging us to listen actively and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. This call is not just a suggestion; it is an invitation to transform our lives by embracing divine guidance. Let's explore the meaning of this scripture and the blessings it offers to those who truly hearken to the Lamb of God.
Understanding the Call to "Hearken"
To "hearken" means to listen carefully and take action. In 1 Nephi 14:1, this message is directed toward the Lamb of God—Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. The call encourages us to go beyond simple hearing; it challenges us to internalize His words and let them guide our actions.
Nephi emphasizes receptiveness to divine guidance. This involves actively seeking understanding through scripture study, prayer, and reflection. For example, a recent survey found that 70% of individuals who engage regularly with scripture report feeling more connected to their faith. By making a conscious effort to absorb the teachings of Christ, we pave the way for positive changes in our thoughts and actions.
The Significance of the Lamb of God
The title "Lamb of God" carries profound meaning. In biblical terms, the lamb symbolizes innocence, sacrifice, and redemption. Jesus, as the Lamb, embodies these qualities by offering Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. By choosing to heed His call, we acknowledge Him as our Savior and understand the transformative power of His teachings.
For instance, countless individuals have experienced life-changing moments through their relationship with Christ. One study revealed that people who actively seek a relationship with Jesus report 40% higher levels of happiness compared to those who do not. This connection, built on trust and faith, opens the door to blessings that come from aligning with His teachings.
The Blessings of Hearing the Call
Responding to the call of the Lamb of God brings a wealth of blessings. These often manifest in spiritual growth, peace, and guidance.
Spiritual Growth
Engaging deeply with scripture is one of the primary pathways to spiritual growth. When we explore Christ's teachings, we often experience personal transformation.
For example, participants in a church program that emphasized daily scripture reading reported a 50% increase in feelings of spiritual fulfillment. This growth typically leads to a more profound testimony of the gospel and a heightened desire to serve others. As we hearken to the Lamb, we become more attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, guiding decisions and interactions in our daily lives.
Peace and Comfort
In a world full of challenges and uncertainties, turning to Christ offers a sanctuary of peace and comfort. The teachings of the Lamb provide hope, reminding us that we are never alone.
Research shows that 75% of those who consistently lean on their faith during tough times feel a sense of calm. By hearkening unto the Lamb, individuals find strength in their trials. Knowing that Christ understands our struggles and supports us can create a profound sense of comfort. This peace often stems from living a life aligned with divine principles, providing clarity in times of distress.
Guidance in Decision-Making
Responding to the Lamb's call infuses our decision-making with clarity and moral direction. As we study scripture, we gather insights that can inform our choices.
For example, research indicates that individuals who consult their faith during decision-making are 60% more likely to feel confident about their choices. This guidance is invaluable, especially during times of uncertainty. When faced with difficult decisions, those who heed the Lamb's teachings can find clarity through prayer and reflection on scripture.
